Your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.” – Joel 2:28

UNC’s BBQ opened in 2010 based upon a vision and dream!  John McFarlin (the uncle) had a dream of owning a barbecue restaurant and Thomas Stauts (the nephew) had a passion for barbecuing!

After several years of encouragement from Uncle John, Thomas began to envision himself owning a successful barbecue restaurant and eater, while blessing others with great barbecue and sauce. And the vision became a reality!

UNC’s BBQ started in a concession trailer, cooking and catering at events of all kinds. The constant request of customers asking, “Where is your place” or my favorite, “When will you have a place?”

The first restaurant opened on June 8, 2012 in White Oak, but was lost to a fire. We regrouped and thanks to the encouragement of our loyal customers, we opened at our new restaurant location.  UNC’s BBQ is in honor of Uncle John McFarlin.

You, your family and friends are invited to come join us, for BBQ done right.
